So, get ready because this video lesson is going to be a game changer.

Learning a language isn't just about memorizing words and rules. It's about immersing yourself in the language, understanding its nuances, and using it in real life situations and scenarios. And that's exactly what we're going to focus on today.

In the study, English as a Second Language Learning Setting the Right Environment for Second Language Acquisition by Hashim and Yunus, the researchers emphasized the importance of setting the right environment and routines in English language learning.

It shows that the way you structure your learning process and the environment you learn in can significantly impact your progress. So, let's see how we can use these insights to supercharge your English learning journey.

Here are some actionable strategies that you can start using today. Strategy one, establish a routine. Consistency is key when learning a new language. Carve out time each day for the four core language skills. Reading, writing, listening, speaking. It could look something like this.

Kickstart your day by reading an English newspaper or article with your morning coffee, actively noting any new vocabulary, phrasal verbs, or expressions. Then, spend your lunch break practicing speaking English with a language partner, even if it's just rehearsing a dialogue from your favorite English sitcom or series.

Set aside some time in the afternoon for a deep dive into English grammar. And finally, unwind in the evening by watching an English movie or TV series, trying to understand the nuances and cultural contexts.

Strategy number two, create a conducive learning environment. The physical surroundings can significantly impact your learning. So create a space that's quiet, comfortable, and free from distractions, a haven for your English studies. It could be a dedicated corner in your house, filled with English books and posters of English idioms.

Or maybe a spot in the local library, surrounded by English literature, where you can fully immerse yourself in the language away from daily disturbances and distractions. Or it could even be a serene spot in the park under your favorite oak tree, where you can practice English while being in the lap of nature. Ah, amazing. Try to create a quiet, comfortable, and distraction free zone for your English studies.

The key really is to find a place where you can focus fully and immerse yourself in the language.

Strategy number three, incorporate English into your daily life. Immersion is crucial in mastering a language. Incorporate English into your daily activities, your daily routines to make it second nature. The more you use English in your daily life, the more natural it will become.

So try to incorporate it into your regular routines, your daily tasks. This could be through listening to English audiobooks during your commute. Speaking English with your friends and family, or even thinking in English without translating. Listen to English podcasts while jogging or exercising, and then later discussing them with your English speaking friends or exchange partner.

Engage your family in English conversations over dinner. Why not? Try it out. Take it up a notch by thinking in English, narrating your daily tasks to yourself in English. Almost like you're the protagonist of an English novel. It could be fun. Try it out.

Strategy number four, use real life contexts. Try to use English in practical real life situations as much as possible. This could be through field trips, project based learning, or community service where you get to interact with native L1 English speakers. For instance, you could volunteer at a local charity or soup kitchen that requires you to interact with people in English.

Utilizing English in practical, real life situations is pivotal.

Because that requires you to interact with English and that provides a platform for you to practice your language skills in diverse scenarios.

So, you can try that out.

Strategy number five, peer learning. Learning with others can be highly beneficial. Create opportunities for group work, pair work, or study groups. This not only provides opportunities for practice, but also allows for learning from each other's strengths.

For example, you could form a study group with your fellow learners where you discuss complex topics in English, or you could pair up with a language partner for regular practice sessions.
